Peewee White Fights Hard Battle Until The End
The Peewee White Huskies attended the Ace Bailey Memorial Tournament in Stoney Creek this past weekend returning to the ice as reigning champions.

They fought hard through the first two games, beating off the Stoney Creek Warriors for a 3-2 win and blanking the Brantford Saints 8-0. This put the team in first place for seeding of the third game.

The games were set and the Huskies faced off against Belle River Canadiens, leaving everything on the ice they came away with an 8-1 win.

The semi final also saw them in first place, which setup a face off against the Windsor Junior Spitfires. The Huskies again worked every angle and came away with the win, leaving the Spitfires blank with a final of 6-0.

Going into the Championship game, the Huskies knew it would be a tough battle, they would face off against Milton who also dominated their pod in the early games of the tournament. The game was a quick start and the pace remained fast throughout the game, with equal shots from both teams. The puck moved around well on both sides, but Milton got the jump in the second period and the Huskies were left to play catch up. The Huskies dominated the third period, peppering the goalie with shots, but came up short.

The Huskies bowed proudly to the Milton Winterhawks as the medals were awarded and rings handed out. It’s never fun to lose, but if it’s going to happen you go down fighting to the end, just as the Huskies did.

Now off to the next tournament where they’ll put everything they learned during this tournament out on the ice and see if they can come away Champions again.
