Our hockey season has been cut short by the Covid-19 virus. Everyone has been in self isolation now for two weeks and parents are trying to find ways to keep the kids active at home. With the unknown of how long this will last and the boredom that is setting in, most kids if left to decide themselves will just retreat to there video games and we will lose more kids from sports to these mindless games. I have some suggestions that may help now and may help them through the summer to be ready for fall tryouts.

Effective for the 2020-2021 season, minor hockey associations across Canada, including those in the Ontario Hockey Federation’s Member Partners (Minor Hockey ALLIANCE of Ontario, Greater Toronto Hockey League, Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Northern Ontario Hockey Association and the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association) will be following the U7, U9 and U11 Player Pathways.

Its playoff time and things are heating up around the league! The excitement and pressure is on. As the season is winding down the pressure to win builds. Mistakes are magnified, blame and figure pointing is more intense. The crowd and benches get louder and everyone wants to blame the referee. Lets keep things in perspective, its still just a game. Its the life lessons the boys learn and how they handle a loss, a win, a goal scored for or against that will help shape them. Words of encouragement will go a long way. Read More

At our recent parent and player meeting we where very pleased to have special guest speaker Eric Bucci. Eric is an Athletic Therapist, Kinesiologist, First Responder and has worked with the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Canada's Field Hockey Team. Eric has been practicing in a clinical setting for the past 5 years focusing on rehabilitation of injuries and specializing in athlete return to sport rehabilitation. Legacy Health & Performance is located at 569 Ontario Street, St.Cathrines Ontario.
