The High's and the Low's
It was a weekend of stark contrasts for the 05 AA Huskies. After a solid win on Saturday, they were handed a disappointing loss by the Woodstock Navy Vets team on Sunday.
This past weekend, the Huskies faced two teams, each at opposite ends of the standings. The first game on Saturday was against the Brantford 99ers in Brantford. It was a well played game by both teams, in which the 99ers did not look like a team at the bottom of the standings. The action went back and forth through all three periods and although the Huskies prevailed 3-0, it was never a sure thing. Special kudos to Matteo B. in net for recording the shutout. He secured the victory for the Huskies in a game where Brantford had the upper hand in shots-on-net. Good job Matteo and everyone else who contributed to this win.
The second game on Sunday at Chedoke was an entirely different matter. The speed and experience of the Woodstock team proved to be too much for the Huskies. Although everyone did their best, it was an easy victory, and a lopsided one, for the Navy Vet's.
After playing each team once, the A/AA seeding process will now take place. We will wait and see where we place and which teams we will be facing for the second half of the season.
