Edge Again Cup, Whitby - HUSKIES BLUE CHAMPIONS!!!, Accomplishments, 05 MD Minor Atom Blue(9), BB - B, 2014-2015, BB/B (Hamilton Huskies)

With high hopes and unbridled enthusiasm Hamilton Minor Atom Huskie Blue travelled to the “Edge Again Cup” in Whitby, Ontario over the Thanksgiving Weekend.  Friday found the Huskies with a 2-0 victory and a 3-1 defeat to Kitchener.  With two games left it was now a “Win & Your In” mission.  Blue won a hard fought battle against the Whitby squad 3-1 Saturday morning handing them their first loss in 10 games this season.  Sunday morning the Huskies played, won 7-0 & qualified for the 5:45 PM finals against the 4-0 Kitchener Rangers.  Huskies Blue started fast and managed to emerge from the 1^st period tied on strong defensive play. Kitchener & Hamilton exchanged goals during the 2^nd period setting up a “Barn Burner” of a finish.  Kitchener found the net with 4:00 minutes left really putting the pressure on Hamilton.  With only 6.4 seconds left and the goalie pulled we tied it up 3-3!!!  Four on Four hockey in O.T. and the Huskies would not be denied the victory!!!  19 seconds into the O.T. frame, on a broken play in the Neutral Zone the Huskies managed to charge up the ice and score!!!!  Bedlam ensued, players swarmed the ice & the rest, as they say, is history!!!
