On the evening of January 31st, 2018, the
Minor
Peewee AA/A and Major Bantam AA/A Huskies took a trip to the Armouries on James
Street North and provided a collective $1,000 donation to the Argyll and Sutherland’s
Poppy Program.
For the month of
November, both Huskies teams paid tribute to Canada's war veterans by wearing
"camo" jerseys.
The Poppy Program allows donors to purchase a Poppy for $500
and dedicate it to one of the Regiment’s war-dead or other service-person who
has died in the service of Canada, or to any member who has served or is
currently serving.
The players and parents in attendance had a chance to come down and see the Argyll’s in action as they conducted their Wednesday night training and then were treated to an exclusive tour of the historic Officers’ Mess Hall.
Many thanks to National Bank and THQ for their sponsorship of the camo jerseys.
