Huskies Green Work As A Team For 1-0 Start
The anticipation was there all day for everyone as the team hit the road in Cambridge for game number one of the regular season. It is always an exciting time with the start of a new season, we could tell and the boys were all over it as if it was Christmas. This already special group of kids had been playing in various house leagues around the city a year ago, now they have the pride of wearing the Red and White.
From the drop of the puck the Green Machine seemed ready. They delivered constant pressure in the Hawks end with shot after shot on the Cambridge net. Shift after shift the Huskies were tenacious and pressured deep in the offensive zone causing turnovers resulting in scoring chances and eventually goals on the scoreboard. The forwards played the F1-2-3 very well in the neutral and offensive zones and were in good defensive position when they needed to be. On the backend the 6 towers of power held the offensive blueline fantastic, pinching in when need be and pulling out of the zone when the time was right. Using their size and speed the 6 boys on D snuffed out most offensive opportunities that came their way. In the net Brandon was great when needed. He made a couple great breakaway saves in which he looked perfect, only allowing the one goal in the game.
In the end the Huskies Green win 12-1.
