At our recent parent and player meeting we where very pleased to have special guest speaker Eric Bucci. Eric is an Athletic Therapist, Kinesiologist, First Responder and has worked with the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Canada's Field Hockey Team. Eric has been practicing in a clinical setting for the past 5 years focusing on rehabilitation of injuries and specializing in athlete return to sport rehabilitation. Eric spoke with our players and parents about injuries and concussions. Acute injuries more common with our players and chronic injuries more common with our parents. A very informative discussion on Concussions : awareness, how a concussion can occur, how to recognize a concussion, steps to take to return to sports and what we can do to help speed up healing. With no disrespect to Doctors, sports therapists specialize in sports injuries and concussions. They have spent the years in University specializing in this field with hands on experience, literally with there hands to help diagnose injuries faster. They know the connection points of nerves and muscles and can find a solution faster and a lot better than what you can find on the internet so don't hesitate and take your injury to those that know and get yourself on the road to recovery faster.
