On December 23, 2019, the 10AA Major Atom Hamilton Huskies gave a little bit of their time at the Welcome Inn Community Centre in the hopes of making a little bit of a difference in the lives of those in our community.
The kids donated 301 lbs of non-perishable items and volunteered to help in preparation for the holidays. The kids were taking down decorations, sorting food, helping with the choice of food for those that attend the Welcome Inn Community Centre and were writing notes to be put in a jar for those that were feeling down on a particular day and could read a note of positivity to lift their spirits.
Thank you to the staff at the Welcome Inn Community Centre for allowing our kids to assist before the holidays so they can see first hand that everyone is not the same and some need a little extra every day and particularly around the holidays.”
