Quinte Cup Champs
The Major Peewee AAA Hamilton Huskies won the Quinte Cup this past weekend. The team went 3-0-1 in Round Robin; beating Ajax-Pickering Raiders 4-1, the host team Quinte Red Devils 2-1, Ottawa Sting 8-1 and tying the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs 2-2.
They would be seeded 2nd overall for the semi-final game, which put them up against the 3rd seeded Burlington Eagles. The Huskies came out on top and prevailed to a 3-1 hard fought win. In the finals, the Huskies would see league opponents and the 1st overall seed Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs. The Huskies prevailed in the battle of the Alliance teams and won 4-2.
The Huskies finished the tournament with a 5-0-1 record with 23 Goals For and 8 Goals Against.
