Huskies' Late Effort Prevails
Hamilton played host to Windsor today on a cold October afternoon.
It was not until two scoreless periods and twenty-five minutes had elapsed that a Husky power play effort saw a lucky bounce that rewarded them with the first goal of the game. With a solid performance between the pipes on both ends of the ice, the chances were there to be had but difficult to exploit. Unfortunately taking advantage of a blue-liner’s unintended fumble, the Western Division Spitfires twice riposted to tie the game up in the third period. Nevertheless, a tardy but opportune emergence of the offensive unit in the closing minutes of the game reclaimed the lead while sealing the deal on an empty-netter, maintaining the Huskies’ successful streak on home ice.
