This season’s journey has been an eventful one, a rewarding one, and for many, a first glance at AAA hockey. This team has had the courage to start, the endurance to continue, and the resolve to finish thanks to their efforts on and off the ice.

Hamilton played home to Huron-Perth last weekend in game six of their divisional round robin series.  Nobody could have predicted a tighter semi-final battle as both teams were in a position to advance. It was the visiting team who would light the lamp first after two scoreless nail-biting periods, and it was not until the final minute of the third that a Husky flew off the bench and blindsided the Lakers' net-minder with a gift-wrapped bullet that would tie the game. As many woke to the sound of church bells on a quiet Sunday morning in Stratford, Hamilton completed a victorious weekend by delivering a memorable performance against Huron-Perth today, a team that has otherwise had the advantage over them during regular season play.  With persistence and intelligent plays that provided them with many scoring opportunities, along with a solid performance between the posts, the Huskies now force the Lakers into a must-win situation leading into the final stretch of Playoff Semis next weekend. As they caravanned across the long stretch of highway from Windsor to Stratford today, the Huskies added two points to their semi-final tally after hanging on to a tight lead in the second of only two games against the Panthers. While this result leaves Sun-County out of contention for the finals, Hamilton has their work cut out for them in the upcoming two-games series against Huron-Perth, whose regular season record favours them. As they began one of two simultaneous round robin series in the Alliance Playoff semis, Hamilton defeated Sun-County during their opening game at home last Saturday.
