Submitted By Web Admin on Wednesday, September 30, 2015
Yosh Kitamura, President of the Hamilton Huskies Hockey Club received a Sport Volunteer Award from Sport Hamilton recently at their 2015 Sport Volunteer Awards Banquet to recognize his 40 + years of dedication to our youth.
In 2009 Yosh received the OHF Minor Hockey Award given to those who have made a significant contribution to Minor Hockey in an administrative role.

Yosh was not always an administrator but coached for many years as well. He also made notable contributions to the football community with the Burlington Braves many years ago.

Yosh started his hockey venture with Eastwood Minor Hockey (mid 1970s through the 80s) as Convenor, Coach and taught at their Peter Puck Hockey School for young kids. He was the Technical Director of the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council when it first formed in 1989 and moved over to the Hamilton Huskies Minor Hockey Club (1980s to present). With the Huskies / Reps he held various positions over the years. Technical Director of Development (for coaches & players); Coach; Vice President; General Manager and currently the President of Hamilton Huskies.
He still ventures on to the ice and participates in on-ice instruction of local children during winter months at a community learn to skate at Parkdale Arena and the "Bauer's Grow the Game".
