The Hamilton Huskies mourn the loss of one of our Hamilton Huskies Hall of Fame members, Frank Caprice, at the early age of 63. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Frank's family and friends.
Frank's childhood began as a Northender in Hamilton where his early playing days were with the Eastwood Coaches Association. He quickly moved on to play with the Hamilton Huskies which led him to 3 years with the London Knights.
Frank was Vancouver's ninth-round selection (178th overall) in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. In the year following his selection, he improved his stock greatly, winning 24 games for the London Knights and representing Canada at the 1982 World Junior Championships. He won all three of his starts at the World Juniors, helping Canada to the gold medal. Following the season, he signed with the Canucks and turned pro.
Frank proudly wore the Canucks jersey for six seasons, appearing in 102 career NHL games all with Vancouver. He was a beloved teammate and a valued member of their organization.
In addition to his time in Vancouver, Frank spent several years in the minor leagues and later took his talents overseas, playing in Italy and the United Kingdom—extending a professional hockey career that spanned more than a decade.
Rest in peace Frank, you will be missed.
