Hamilton Huskies Announce Alumni Weekend 2014
Submitted By admin on Wednesday, April 2, 2014
Hamilton, ON - On August 16th, 2014 The Hamilton Huskies Minor Hockey Association celebrates its 43 year history with The Inaugural Hamilton Huskies Alumni Weekend, including The Huskies Alumni Golf Tournament to be held at Kings Forest Golf Club, and The Huskies Hall of Fame Dinner hosted by the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s, all in support of The Dave Andreychuk Foundation

“Huskies Alumni cross a wide rink of sport, community, and business involvement locally, provincially, nationally and internationally”, states Huskies General Manager Mike Spadafora. “This summer, the organization invites all alumni – players, coaches, executive, parents and volunteers for a day of sharing memories and to pay tribute to builders of hockey in Hamilton, and to those who have graduated from the Huskies/Reps system to enjoy success in our community and beyond, whether it is on the ice or off.”
The Hamilton Huskies organization was founded in 1971 as the Hamilton Minor Hockey Association (HMHA). The organization has been a key part of the landscape of minor hockey for over 40 years beginning with AAA, AA and house league opportunities for youth, evolving through many changes to a recently rebranded Huskies name.
“I am pleased to be a part of this event”, says Huskies’ graduate and Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk. “I remember my youth hockey days in Hamilton fondly, and have many family still here; I return as often as possible to visit family and friends while also promoting the efforts of the foundation. Our Foundation was built to assist children in need and I am grateful that funds raised from this weekend will support our mission.”
On April 29th at 2:30 p.m., a media conference at a location to be determined by mid-month, will be held to announce the details of the festivities and the nominees for the inaugural induction of the Hamilton Huskies Hall of Fame.
