The Hamilton Huskies are pleased to welcome Dennis Maxwell to the organization in a new position of Technical Director. Dennis is a Huskies Alumni who has returned to the Hamilton area with a desire to help in the development of our teams and players and will make himself available to assist coaches when requested.

Dennis Maxwell
Dennis grew up in Hamilton playing hockey in the old HMHA Huskies system. During his early playing years he played alongside future NHL'ers Eric Cairns, Ethan Moreau, Scott Nichol, Shawn Thornton, Steve Staios before getting drafted himself in the 1992 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Dennis' first year of Professional Hockey was 1995-1996 with the New York Rangers ECHL Team, the Charlotte Checkers. During his first year, he won a Championship with Charlotte, while leading the team in rookie scoring in goals and also in penalty minutes. Dennis has been under contract with the New York Rangers, the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs and has played at every minor pro Level during his 14 year professional career. He has been fortunate to have been coached by former NHL'ers, Al MacAdam, John Marks and Mark Hunter. Dennis has also played with the likes of Todd Rierdon, the Assistant Coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Kevyn Adams, the Assistant Coach of the Buffalo Sabres and Davis Payne, the former Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues. Coach Maxwell has been a Player/Assistant Coach multiple times and received his first Head Coaching position in London, England where he took a team who didn't make the playoffs the year before, to the playoffs during his first year.
Dennis Maxwell has always been known as a hard-nosed Hockey Player that can play at both ends of the ice. During his 700 plus games, he has played more than 150 games on defense, garnering the respect from teammates as well as opposing coaches and players. Upon retiring from professional hockey, Dennis relocated to the Dallas – Fort Worth area and has had a successful career as a recruiter and most recently as a scout in the New York Islanders organization. Dennis now spends most of his time in the Hamilton area and is eager to share his experiences and knowledge of the game to help coaches and players develop to their potential and give them every opportunity to get to the next level.
