The Hamilton Huskies Hockey Club is pleased to announce that
Rich Vrataric will begin transitioning into the role of
Director of Player Development on a full-time basis. This role will oversee all aspects of player development for all Huskies players and teams from ages U7-U18.
Rich Vrataric is a proud Hamilton Huskies AAA alumnus who was drafted in the 2nd round of the OHL Draft.
Rich played 3 seasons in the OHL with the Niagara Falls Thunder/Erie Otters and North Bay Centennials before finishing out his final year of Junior hockey with the Junior B Niagara Falls Canucks, winning the All-Ontario Sutherland Cup. Rich then went on to play for the Brock University Badgers Men’s Varsity Hockey team while completing his degree. He has spent the past 18 years working in education as a Secondary School P.E teacher and Department Head @ Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary in Grimsby, ON and has built and managed a very successful physical education and athletics program with the focus on physical literacy and personal fitness.
Since 1998 Rich has been a local development/skills and power skating instructor and has worked with numerous local hockey associations and hockey schools. Coach Vrataric holds many certifications within athletics, fitness and mental health training, some of these certifications include High Performance 1 coaching certification, (PEP) Power Edge Pro, Hockey Canada Level 2 Skills & Power Skating instructor and is currently a certified personal training specialist with CanFitPro.
Rich is looking forward to his new role within the Hamilton Huskies Hockey Club.
