The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges as a result of COVID-19.
The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and return to the game they love. With more than $1 million dollars in funding available for the 2021/2022 season, the Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.
If you are not in need of an assist please
consider a donation of any amount.

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is back – Applications open August 1!
|
The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is back, giving young Canadians and their families an assist with registration fees. There was an incredible response to the launch of the Assist Fund in 2020, and we are happy your local hockey association received a portion of the funding that ultimately gave 1,032 kids an assist. We have over $1 million in funding to give kids the opportunity to play hockey this year and we can’t wait to start the season.
Before the season starts, please check if you have any Assist Fund cheques that have not been deposited. If you do, please deposit them immediately and contact the families who were approved, or return the cheque to:
Hockey Canada Foundation - Assist Fund
Suite 201 – 151 Canada Olympic Road SW
Calgary, Alberta T3B 6B7
If you know any families in need of an assist, let them know about the Assist Fund. We invite them to apply.
Here’s what they need to know:
- The application portal opensAugust 1, 2021 and can be accessed here.
- Families must include proof of registration paid or an official quote from the LHA their child will be registered with.
- If families have applied and been approved for other funding, they must include on their application and deduct that amount from the $500 subsidy we make available.
We can’t wait to see your LHA back on the ice this year!
Thank you,
The Hockey Canada Foundation
