He has a passion for the game with a focus on development while maintaining a competitive spirit. Rick has worked alongside Junior teams and with Midget players developing their skills to get them ready to play at the next level.
He has been coaching in Guelph the past 2 years currently at the Minor Midget (2004) level and in their Bantam year progressed to the OMHA finals playing in the Bronze Medal game.
Rick was selected to be on a coaching staff at the 2020 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener.
"
Running from May 6- May 10 at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener, Ont, the OHL Gold Cup is an annual showcase event featuring top under-16 talent in Ontario. As part of the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence (POE), players competing at the OHL Gold Cup have an opportunity to be evaluated for invitation to the national under-17 development camp, where Hockey Canada gathers the top talent from across the country to introduce players to the national team program and provide a foundation of development as they progress through the POE."
Rick fosters personal growth in his players as he states "I love this game and am very competitive but most importantly I enjoy teaching these athletes life lessons to hopefully make them good citizens down the road through this great sport we love. I am very excited to be joining the Huskies Family and look forward to a great year."
Best of luck and much success in the upcoming season from the Huskies Family.
