Lake Placid News - Recap of Gold Medal Game

2019_14_AA_ICG_Lake_Placid_7.jpg

In the Gold Medal Boys game today it was Lake Placid 10 Hamilton 5. The score however doesn’t tell the real story of this team though.

We lost one goalie (Owen Schlote) a week before the games to a broken collar bone and then our remaining goalie (Rueben Lachance) to a knee injury after Game 3, a game he played mostly on his knees (including a 5 min OT) to help his team secure a 5-5 tie. One of the players (Mark Sbrissa) then stepped up and offered to be goalie, a position he doesn’t play, in Game 4 yesterday and the Gold Medal game.

We saw the team try their best against the local Lake Placid team today and we’re super proud of all these young men and the coaches! Congratulations on your ICG Silver Medal!

Go have lots of FUN and CELEBRATE at Closing Ceremonies and the athlete party tonight!!!
