Anthony Romaniw, a former Hamilton Reps player is competing for CANADA in Rio as part of the Athletics Team (800 metre Track and Field)
Anthony played multiple sports growing up and his parents attribute his participation in Rio partly to his athletic development while involved with hockey and other sports in his youth. They have sent us a note thanking all those involved for their contribution.
Thanks back at you and best of luck to Anthony!
Dear Administrators, I'm sending this after reading a Tweet from the OMHA regarding Canadian Olympians who graduated from that association and are now representing their country in another sport.
The Tweet also spoke of the importance of playing a variety of sports which creates better athletes as each sport played assists the other.
My family would like to thank you for providing Anthony Romaniw, 800m track & field athlete, with assisting him in getting to Rio.
Anthony played hockey with Chedoke house league and HUB Express, AA & AAA with the Hamilton Reps, and soccer with OYSL and SRSL Saltfleet Vipers.
Please continue to encourage your athletes to play many sports as it will assist them in reaching their athletic goals.
