Non-Sanctioned Leagues
With the uncertain Return To Hockey over the last couple of months and the limited number of openings in OHF / ALLIANCE / Huskies Programs many have enrolled in programs that operate outside the umbrella of Hockey Canada.

A decision of this nature is fully understandable as everyone wants to get back on the ice.

With the 2020 season about to begin, players registering with the Hamilton Huskies will be rostered in the Hockey Canada Registry to be covered by Hockey Canada Insurance. Participation in 2 Leagues / Non-sanctioned Leagues is not permitted.

This is not a Hamilton Huskies policy. This is a policy passed down from our governing bodies which must be adhered to as in past seasons. This does not affect any development sessions you may attend provided by a private operator, it references team, league and tournament play that is not Hockey Canada sanctioned. Your Hockey Canada Insurance would not be in effect while on a private operators development ice, it would only be in effect while participating in Hamilton Huskies programming.
  • Any player, coach or team official participating in an unsanctioned league or tournament after September 30th, 2020 will not be eligible to play with the Hamilton Huskies for the remainder of the season. There is no refund for players who participate in such leagues and they along with any coach or team official who participates in a Non-sanctioned League will be suspended from play.
