ALLIANCE TIER 1 CHAMPIONS!
This past weekend the Minor Midget Huskies White competed in the Alliance Championship tournament for the Tier 1 finals. After a long 35 game full season without playoffs or playdowns, it all came to this...4 games.
Even though we topped first place in those 35 games, there was no room for error in this final tournament. All 4 teams were deserving of being there and all 4 had a chance of winning it all. The boys came out of the gate in every game STRONG, and although the other teams gave us a run for our money, the boys never quit! '
Knowing that some of the boys would be done hockey after this final game, the mood in the change room was high, determined and unified...they would not take it lightly! In the end this group of skilled, dedicated and great kids pulled off the win to cap a 48-6-6 season! The win was gravy to the special bond they grew as teammates and fine young men.
I was proud to coach them and teach them the most important lessons hockey teaches kids: Sportsmanship, responsibility, discipline, that we all make mistakes and to always take the high ground in difficult situations...these are things that we are made of...hockey is the fun part!
