Nations Cup is upon us
 Well we are on the eve of our most unique event of the year- Tier 2 Nations Cup in Detroit! With our visit to Detroit and travelling on a coach, thought I would review a few things to ease the trip.

We are travelling as a group of 45 on a 56 person coach bus provide by Wills transport and will have lots of room to move around. With your personal planning, there is space below your seat for additional space to take to your room.

Please make sure that you go through these small steps in preparation;

1. Ensure that you have adequate medical coverage for you, your spouse and family. The Huskies insurance will only cover the players during the game, not in travel or at the hotel. All of your local banking institutions will cover you easily in a few minutes.

2. Please make sure that you have your identification available to cross the border- either a Canadian passport for all individuals or the new enhanced Driver's licence. I believe children under 14 are available to cross the border with their birth certificate.

3. For our young travellers travelling without their parents- please assist us with documentation and other written consent that will ease the travel crossing. Please refer to travelling across the USA border for the correct steps to take.

4. Identify your travel bags with some form of tags/markings that will help you easily find your belongings. Easy markings could be the form of hockey tape, Luggage tags. Please mark the Hockey sticks with player # as they will be saran wrapped together prior to departure to easily pack the bottom compartment.

With the e-mails the last few days- we have a great array of food, drinks and desserts that everybody is contributing to and will make the travel that much easier and help us avoid some time loss with stops. This will help us from NOT making a stop at the rest stations or the border with Duty Free.

Spirit Wear
The boys are asked to bring their team attire- hoodie, track pants and jacket. The warm up gear is suggested as we want to identify ourselves as not only Canada but THE Hamilton Huskies team. The coaches will be handing out the winter toques so that we look the part.
The Canada uniforms will be available at our first game and not before. The logistics should be easy and we shouldn't have issues( No 42's or 95) but there are 202 teams participating so.... with that the case please only bring your Red jersey and socks.

Shopping

We will set up drop off and pick up for those that want to shop on the Friday and Saturday. We will review it on the bus as we are trying to lock up some service commitments at local restaurants.

Miscellaneous

* After game on Friday evening we will come back and relax at the Hotel, there are 5 teams total in hotel (2 2003 Huskies teams + Milton Teams) we are thinking of ordering some pizza and stuff if that is agreeable to the group.

I think that is it for now- time to pack and get ready! I have my sewing sticks..... Piera be ready Russ's evil plan comes alive on Friday night...
