Back to back in the battle with Waterloo
The home and home one day series was sure to be a full fun day of not only hockey but a pizza party, birthday celebration(Fynner), a drive to Waterloo and the 2 hockey games. This coach was wondering how this eager yet inexperienced team would respond? The first game was played at home and a hungry energetic Huskies Blue team played the good skating Waterloo team stride for stride, out shooting Waterloo 34-20 according to the Waterloo scorekeepers count. At the final buzzer the final score was just as good with the Huskies pulling out a fantastic 4-2 win. Carter T was the star of the game burying the hat trick. Both Ricky D and Zach D were very solid in the pipes.
Next up was the rematch in Waterloo, and this time the Huskies knew what they were getting into on the ice but unfamiliarity with the off ice and travel. Bringing the same effort, although clearly not at full speed, the boys did manage to pull off the comeback and then won it in the third period. A very gutsy 4-3 win was the result, Aidan T-S with 2 clutch goals to lead the scoring way. What a day!! Not only did we get to see some league competition but we also got to visit Waterloo and experience being the road team and the travel and grind that comes with it. All in all a very successful day and experience. WAY TO GO BOYS! Thanks families!!
