The Huskies braved atrocious road and weather
conditions last weekend...
some stuck behind ploughs, others behind highway closures, but all made it safely through at times near zero visibility to begin their playoff season in the -38° chill awaiting them in Windsor. The opening weekend, as expected, saw both teams evenly weighted with determination and capability. While the Huskies’ puck-moving ability, scoring effectiveness and defensive-zone prowess brought them success in a dominant first evening game, the Spitfires awoke with a second effort that greatly challenged the pipes and tied the series in what has now become a best of 3 back in Hamilton.
So what exactly is “home ice advantage”? It is certainly more than just the psychological advantage of playing in a familiar facility - it is further powered by team spirit and fans in large numbers cheering in support of the coaches and boys who have the passion to play, and who come to win. So bring your family, friends, and anyone who enjoys an exciting hockey game! Wear a HUSKIES jersey, SPIRIT wear, or something RED and together let’s ignite the atmosphere on Friday night and Saturday afternoon at Chedoke!
GO HUSKIES!
