Its playoff time and things are heating up around the league! The excitement and pressure is on. As the season is winding down the pressure to win builds. Mistakes are magnified, blame and figure pointing is more intense. The crowd and benches get louder and everyone wants to blame the referee. Lets keep things in perspective, its still just a game. Its the life lessons the boys learn and how they handle a loss, a win, a goal scored for or against that will help shape them. Words of encouragement will go a long way.
Cheer positively, learn from our mistakes and remember what we can do when we play as a team are building blocks for the future. Our goal is Alliance championships and we will need support from everyone to get there and we should help support other Huskie teams get there as well.
I just heard a shout out on the radio to all Huskie teams in the playoffs! It reminded me to encourage everyone to check out the playoff page on the main website and get out to an arena to cheer on these teams. There is some really good hockey to watch and friends younger and older your son may know. Teams you tried out for but didn't make are good teams for you to go watch and learn from. See what you may need to help get you to that level some day.
One team in particular I have tried to watch regularly is our Minor Midget AAA team. Jeremy Bloomfield, assistant coach of this team has been our development coach this year and has been a great help for us. Jeremy has done a great job for us and this team!!! Chedoke arena is a hopping place when this team plays. The stands are full of scouts looking to fill there OHL teams for next year. Its exciting for these boys and exciting to see the Huskies brand getting out there for the rest of Ontario to see. I would have to say its a must see game you should try and get out to see!!!! Great job to everyone involved !!!
LETS GO HUSKIES !!!
