3. See attached
2024-25 U8 & U9 Mock Budgets, U8 and U9 tab both found in the same attachment.
4. Our goal for the U8 program this season is again to have two teams at this age group and continue to develop all players; with two practices and two games per week, plus tournaments, every single player will improve drastically over the course of the season. -
Mike Walsh (see PDF program overview for Mike's impressive coaching and player development background). -
Anyone interested in helping coach with Mike, being a team trainer/manager please email
[email protected] and [email protected]
5. We aim to ice two U9 teams. Our U9 coaches will be named in September 2024, just before the September evaluations. New for this season,
Paul Cannon will help oversee our U9 teams as a coach mentor. Welcome aboard, Paul. - Our goal for next season is to continue with two teams in this age group but look to TIER, which will turn the teams into Huskies Red and Huskies White. That means the Huskies Red team would be chosen first with its players, followed by our Huskies White team. Both teams still play in the same league and have the same budget and resources; we organize the players accordingly. During your U9 season, Hockey Canada mandates that this age group continue to play half-ice hockey until early January 2025, then transition to full-ice games for the second half of the season.
We hope that you will register for prep and evaluation skates this week as it helps our seasonal planning and coach selection for program delivery.
Your involvement is critical to the success of the upcoming season.
