Hello Ice Users,

This email has been sent out to all ice users currently holding ice contracts with the City of Hamilton and not intended to single out any group.

It has been brought to our attention that several incidents have occurred in our arena facilities.  Staff are dealing with both inappropriate conduct, with people not wearing facemasks once they pass through the contact tracing and vaccine verification points.

Facemasks

Please ensure that all  spectators that attend games during your ice rental comply with the facemask policy. All spectators must wear a facemask in the facility. All participants must wear a facemask until they enter the ice surface,  this also includes the dressing room. This applies to coaches, trainers, managers and other team staff members.  We do respect that there are some exemptions to the policy.  The staff report that several times a night they need to remind people to put their facemasks back on and wear them properly. The City of Hamilton has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy, and if your spectators and participants continue to ignore the rules in the facility they will be removed, and we may have to discuss cancelling your future ice times.

Conduct

We have also had several complaints about spectators displaying bad conduct in our facilities. The actions of some,  have been very disrespectful conduct towards the staff on site and other spectators. This type of conduct may also lead to ice cancellation and the potential of enforcement of the City of Hamilton’s Zero Tolerance Policy.

Please ensure that your teams are following the correct warm up procedures in our facilities. Do not become disruptive to other facility users and if a staff member gives your team staff or players direction ensure that you comply with the direction.

Thank you, and as always,  if you have questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
