No points awarded in opener, but 10 points given by coach
It was a long wait, an anxious meeting for some and a game the Huskies Blue had been working hard for. In a matchup where most were considering Huskies Blue the overwhelming underdog, the boys on the blue squad would give an effort this coach couldn't be prouder of. Positioning, passing, and overall team play would be evident throughout the game even when the pressure was on for some stretches of time. After a difficult start to the game the boys were proving that their over the top effort at practice was certainly paying off.
As the game got going a little more and the confidence started to build the Huskies Blue started to realize that they could play with the good Huskies Black team. Two periods of chances at both ends would result in the score being tied at 2-2 early in the third but this is when it seemed the Novice Blue just ran out of gas, a couple tough shifts in a row and it seemed that this game just wasn't going to bounce their way. The final was a much closer than 7-3 win for the deserving Huskie Black team. Back to the practice ice we go, we will go after it again on Saturday. Great job boys!!!!
